An account of loading day.
On March 18th, loading day, we were blessed with a dry day it was also very cold. This was a bit of a problem for people stationed on the yard at times when the level of activity was low. This, unfortunately is a characteristic of container loading which is difficult to avoid. Such periods are usually absorbed by taking advantage of a drink and a chat with the people you met last year, exchanging news etc. However, it was so intensely cold this year, standing around for more than a few minutes was not really an option. I think most people created enough activity to avoid freezing and the task was finished in a fairly quick and efficient manner. I must therefore commend everyone on their fortitude, good humour and commitment in staying as long as they could to ensure a successful conclusion to the job.
As it turned out, this years event can be considered among the most successful packs that we have done. The two 'south' vans were closed up about 4.00pm. The 'north' van closure was
delayed by an hour or so because additional material from the pool of goods we expected to roll over till next year had to be dug out, labeled etc and packed as they became available. At the end, everything to hand was sent and nothing remained to be rolled over. The available stuff precisely filled the vans to capacity in circumstances where we were predicting a 20% overspill. It is encouraging to know that the Lord can get it right, even if we can't! This now means that we can move to our new premises without having to organise people and vehicles to shift stuff from Rotadata during the next few weeks.
There is still much paperwork to do to support the sailing and importation process at Puerto Cortes in Honduras. As the paperwork is progressed we look forward to a trouble free journey and delivery of the goods we have packed to their intended recipients in Honduras. By this means help is brought to around 6000 needy children and hope to their parents.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who has helped in any way. Without things to send there would be no containers and without money we cannot send them. The containers have arrived at the docks but have not cleared customs yet.
